So I've been on an editing kick lately...

And that means you guys get to see the results! So this past weekend I attended the Festival of Colors at the Hindu temple in Spanish Fork, UT. Pretty much you go throw colored chalk at each other and celebrate things like equality, freedom, and love. It's pretty great. And as you can imagine, the photos  are pretty fun to edit too, especially when playing around with color.

Just check out these beauties:

And then, for some contrast, a quick edit of the beautiful Las Vegas, NV Temple:

I am by far no master, and I'm still trying to figure a lot of stuff out, but it's fun in the meantime. Oh, and if you have any cool photos that you think might be potentially fun to edit, and you don't mind, send 'em my way!

Quick Quote #13

"What you sincerely in your heart think of Christ will determine what you are, will largely determine what your acts will be." ~David O. McKay

I love classical music...

It is so calming, yet intricate. It is the only genre of music that I can listen to when I'm studying. Mostly because it doesn't have lyrics to distract me, but that's not the only reason. Maybe I just like that it makes me feel smarter. Is there anything wrong with that? I don't think so. Does that make me pretentious? That word always has confused me. I love the irony that pretentious is a pretentious word, too. No, but really... Tchaichovsky, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Schumann; these guys knew what they were doing. And what was that exactly? Writing beautiful music, that's what. So if you're in need of a relaxation session or personal meditation, just Grooveshark or Pandora some of these peeps--they never disappoint.

I want to do this...

A four month performing mission in Nauvoo! I think it would be a really cool experience. Take a look and tell me what you think!

Quick Quote #12

"There must needs be a conciousness of real need for prayer, and real trust in God, to make prayer effective; and in mercy the Father sometimes delays the granting that the asking may be more fervent."

What an amazing Sunday...

So I've had this list of pieces of advice from Elder F. Enzio Busche on a handout I got at Girls' Camp for a few years. It is probably one of my favorite handouts I've ever gotten. Today, in Relief Society, they played this video and I loved hearing the actual devotional along with the visuals. I just thought I should share it since it has so many great messages.

Quick Quote #11

"It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree, helping each other to one or other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities...that we should conduct all our dealing with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people."
~C.S. Lewis

I love my parents...

Needless to say, I find my parents highly entertaining and quote-worthy. They should feel honored to be the first non-famous people in my Quick Quotes. These last two quotes both occurred in the last 24 hours. My parents are great. Be jealous.
